Make a cartoon from a photo

Photoshop has many filters that can be applied in various ways to give different effects.

You can use them to make some cool special effects.

Let's get started

1. Open the photo in Photoshop (it can be any photo, but portraits are good fun).
2. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.
3. Set the radius to 3.0 or above.
4. Go to Edit > Fade Gaussian Blur.
5. In the dialog box that appears set the mode to Darken, and adjust the opacity 'til you get the effect you like.
