There are two standards for CAT5

networkIt seems that 568-B is the most common, but I've always used the 568-A version with success.

 


Below are two equally valid ways to make a patch cable

If you want to make a straight patch cable use one of the methods for both ends.

If you need a cross-over cable use 568-B for one end and 568-A for the other!
