Uploading ISO files

proxmoxBefore you can install an operating system to a virtual machine, you will typically need an ISO file.  This article describes the process for uploading ISO files.


Start by logging on to Proxmox VE.

  1. Select the Storage View.
  2. Select the storage that you want to upload to, in the left pane.
    1. Note that the storage needs to be configured to be able to store ISOs.
  3. Select the Content tab.
  4. Click the Upload button.
  5. Click Select file... to browse to your ISO file.
  6. Click Upload.

You will see a progress bar displayed showing the progress.



As an alternative method you can use the Filezilla FTP client.  Note that Proxmox VE is configured to allow SFTP traffic (port 22).

Simply upload to the following directory.
