Discovering hardware with lspci

linux-penguinWhen trying to install any operating system, it is important to know what hardware is involved, so that the appropriate drivers can be located.  This article helps you do this.

Boot to linux

You can start by installing Puppy linux on a flash drive and booting to that.  Alternatively any linux live-CD will do.



Start a terminal session and type the following:

lspci -tv

This will give a listing of the hardware
