How to create a bootable flash drive

ubuntuOnce you've downloaded a .iso file for your favourite OS, you could burn it to a CD or DVD, and install from there. But what if your computer doesn't have a DVD drive? This article describes how to create a bootable USB stick using Ubuntu.


Startup Disk Creator

Start by installing Startup Disk Creator on your Ubuntu desktop.

  1. Run Startup Disk Creator
  2. Browse to the following:
    1. The .iso file of the OS that you want to boot to.
    2. The USB memory stick that you want to install it on.

After double-checking that you have the correct startup disk to install to, you can click Make startup disk.
