Checking the DNS Setting of Ubuntu

ubuntuIt is sometimes useful to know which DNS servers your Ubuntu computer is configured to look for.  This article describes the process using a Terminal.


Terminal

Start by opening a Terminal session.

Run the following command to see the order of DNS servers set up for this computer:

$ nmcli dev show | grep DNS

IP4.DNS[1]: 192.168.0.1
IP4.DNS[2]: 8.8.8.8
IP4.DNS[3]: 4.4.4.4
