Using an account alias?

awsYour AWS account is identified by a number (e.g. 12344567891011). You can change this to an easier to remember alias. This article describes the process.

Support Center

Start by logging on with your root account.

  1. Go to Services > IAM.
  2. Next to the IAM users sign-in link, click the Customise link.
  3. Enter the alias that you would like to use (e.g. mySchool).
  4. Click the Yes, Create button.

You can delete this alias and create a new one as needed. Note that this alias needs to be unique across all AWS. You can copy the sign-in link to send to your users, by clicking copy.
