Allowing users to reset their own password

googleBy default G Suite forces users to contact an administrator when they want to reset their password. This article describes how to allow users to recover their own password.

Admin console

Start by logging on to G Suite with an admin account.

  1. Browse to
  2. Click Security.
  3. Expand Basic settings.
  4. Click the Enable/disable non-admin user password recovery link.
  5. Select the checkbox for Enable non-admin user password recovery.
  6. Click Save.

Note that this change might take upto 24 hours to propagate to all users, but in my experience the change was immediate.
