Accessing your files using WebDAV

nextcloudWebDAV is a protocol that allows you to access your files using a mapped network drive. This article describes how use WebDAV on a Mac, Linux and Windows.

Apple Mac

Start by opening Finder on your Mac computer.

  1. Click Go > Connect to Server.
  2. Enter the following address and click Connect.

Linux

Open your preferred file manager. I'm using Thunar on Xubuntu, but hopefully the process will be similar for other file managers.

  1. Click Go > Open Location.
  2. In the address bar enter the following address:
davs://cloud.yourschool.org/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME/

Microsoft Windows

Start by opening Windows Explorer

  1. Right-click This PC > Map network drive...
  2. Choose a Drive letter (e.g. Z).
  3. In the Folder field enter the following address, and click Finish.
